A 46-year-old man was arrested Tuesday and charged in the killing of Elaine Coleman, a former employee of the St. Albans school who was found slain in her Northeast Washington home last month, D.C. police said.
Coleman, 47, was found by police Dec. 4 in her home in the 500 block of 23rd Place NE, police said. They said she was suffering from stab wounds.
A spokeswoman for St. Albans school said she had worked on the kitchen staff there.
Police said John William Smith Jr., who had no fixed address, was arrested on a warrant and charged with second-degree murder while armed in the death.
No further details were immediately available.
