Free Girl Summer Camp: June 25 – August 3!

Girls Inc. of the Washington metro area at Howard University offers is offering “College Bound Girls! Summer Camp,” an exciting summer leadership camp for girls ages 11-15, middle schoolers and rising 9th graders. The camp will take place from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, June 25 through Friday, Aug. 3, at the Girls Inc. Center at Howard University, 2401 4th St., NW, Bldg 62B, corner of 4th and College streets.

 Summer is a time to relax, to try new things, to dream dreams, enjoy old friendships and make new ones!

The camp provides Girls Inc.’s nationally recognized programs in a safe, supportive atmosphere where girls can “dream, do and discover” new and interesting things about themselves and each other. Activities include all things STEM, Culinary Arts, Robotics, CSI-forensics, along with arts & crafts, swimming, field trips and leadership development.

Seaward Academy Summer Camp

We will hold camp at Langston Golf Course, 2700 Benning Road, SE

Hours: 8:30AM-5:30PM

Ages: Grades 1-8 for boys and girls, kindergarten and Pre-K after conversation with STEM Director, Mr. Jesse Parker

When: June 25 through August 17

We will have:

*golfing lessons offered by Langston Jr. Boys and Girls Golf instructors

*swimming at Capitol Hill Pool

*Culinary Arts, STEM(Science, Technology, Engineering and Math), and Sports

*academic enrichment in reading and math with computer assisted instruction

*social skills development with a DCPS social worker and counselor

*museum trips

*humanities- writing, photography and film

Cost: $160 a week

$140 a week, if registered before May 1

$25 non-refundable registration fee

At this time, we are not able to offer scholarships. However, we may be able to discuss financial arrangements for siblings.

Students will be provided breakfast and snacks. Students should bring their own lunch. Parents may be asked to contribute to transportation cost for some events.
