Free Radon Test to DC Residents

January 2012 is Radon Awareness Month and the District Department of the Environment (DDOE) encourages all DC residents to test their homes for radon.

The U.S. EPA estimates 20,000 lung cancer deaths each year in the
U.S. are radon-related. Exposure to radon is the second leading cause of
lung cancer after smoking. DDOE’s Radon program has free radon test kits
for District residents.
