Possible New Stadium for DC United at Buzzard Point

The Washington Post and DCist are reporting that the DC United are closer than ever to getting a new stadium at Buzzard Point in SW DC.

Of course, this begs the question that affects Kingman Park — i.e. what will be done with RFK if there is not even a soccer team to play there?

  1. Perhaps the Eleanor Holmes Norton bill to include the RFK stadium site in the National Mall could be reintroduced to Congress. Since the main Mall is a finished work of art, expansion to the east would seem natural. A subway stop is already in place.
