These two same meetings will be “charrette” style meetings. Graphic representations of the two corridors, from Benning Rd NE to
Potomac Ave SE, will be provided with visual tools allowing participants to discuss and propose options for safer streets.
Project Description: As part of the safety improvement initiative for this corridor DDOT is further evaluating the transportation safety improvements that were identified in the 2006 Capitol Hill Infrastructure Study to determine which improvements will be most feasible to implement. Included in the improvements being evaluated for this corridor are new roadway markings and signage, curb extensions (also known as bulb-outs), ADA sidewalk ramps, and traffic signal upgrades. A final meeting will be held to review the consensus for safety improvements.
